Quotes: Posted November 20

These days, many claim to be spiritual teachers, yet so few are qualified. What follows are two quotes from a truly great spiritual teacher. Her name is Ananda Mayi Ma:

"For those who are pilgrims on the path, it is imperative to forge ahead vigorously, energetically, steadily and at great speed. Sitting in a rickety cart will not do. Virile strength of mind is always needed. You yourself have to mould your own life. Remember this."

and

"By meditating in a group especially in the presence of a Mahatma the less advanced are helped by those who have reached greater depths in their meditation since the "prana" or life force is the same in all beings.

Flies, Vinegar, and Honey: November 13

I do not intend to take a stance on Pro-Life versus Pro-choice here. However, I do have a question.
Is Pro-Life a passive aggressive term?
Doesn’t it imply Anti-Life?
But no one is Anti-Life.

In retaliation,
Pro-Choice might be renamed Pro-Freedom.
But no one here is Anti-Freedom.

Pro-Life and Pro-Freedom?
How about Anti-Life and Anti-Freedom?
The emotional charge, hidden in the name Pro-Life, offends and thereby undermines its goal.
Pro-Lifers, in the name of the cause, might consider a less polarizing name.
Balance precedes resolution.

Mount Soma

Last weekend we had class at Mount Soma. It was an amazing experience. The feeling at Mount Soma is remarkable. The silence is exquisitely deep. It felt like we were sitting in the depth of the transcendent, the middle of Sat Yuga. We talked a bit about it in class the first two days. Honestly, when I enter Mount Soma it is like going through a portal into another time. Also honestly, each time I leave, a silly little part of me wonders if that fantastic feeling will still be there when I return! On the last day, during the class discussions, we explored the feeling. We settled into it. The transcendent is so palpable at Mount Soma. It will take some getting used to. It is a unique experience. I am certain that we will continue to marvel over it and explore it for years to come. Though it has been my goal all along to create such a marvelous space, I just can’t get over the fact that we actually accomplished it! If you want a glimpse of what Sat Yuga feels like, come to Mount Soma. We did it!

We expect to have housing up in time for the winter 6 week course. With a little luck, people will no longer need to commute to classes or retreats at Mount Soma. I will keep you posted. Please say a little prayer. As the blossom gets bigger, thorns (obstacles) naturally come up. But the light is visible at the end of the tunnel. With your support, if we all keep our eye on the ball, Heaven on Earth will be here and available to everyone soon.

Night Sky: Posted November 3

Moon, Jupiter, and Venus have been absolutely gorgeous in the south western sky for a while after sunset lately. Venus is brighter than Jupiter. Watch for them over the next few evenings… Wonderful!

Karma: Posted November 1

We all have mountains of karma. The waves come here and there from lifetime to lifetime and moment to moment as they do.

There is no way out other than through…

Meditate, explore, and meditate some more to dissolve it on the level of the Transcendent. You cannot get rid of it. But you can transform it to a level where you hardly feel it at all. In so doing, you transform world karma for all humanity as well.

New Book: Posted November 1

I am happy to say that my new book, “The Relationship Sutras” just came out. We received the copies yesterday from the printer. You will be able to order it next week or you can pick up a copy at one of the classes. I had one proof copy of it at the Rhode Island class last week and read a page here and there throughout the weekend. It was an amazing class. The book, a set of sutras, has a format similar to “Look deeper, Live Better.” The back of the book gives a good idea of what it is about:

“On the surface, relationships can be so complex. Yet at the depth they are so very simple. These sutras (threads) weave the fabric on which all relationships are built. By reflecting upon them, these sutras awaken the wisdom within your soul. Much deeper than a how-to, they culture a natural state of being, the gateway to healthy relationships.
